Quick question: Can we leave comments to the submissions here too or it is only for posting the works? Because I want to say that your draw made me laugh, Laurie! Poor Carmine... Look at that pissed off expression! And Bine, I'm going to coment your story in your LJ.

LOL, Laurie, I love your fanart! Very funny interpretation of the challenge. Bine, I want to read the beginnings of your story- I haven't yet, but I will. Well folks, the muses really didn't speak to me much on this one, but I wanted to do something. Here's a drabble (100 word story) from me. It's my first drabble ever. Passing the TimeIt all started out as a way to pass the time. In rare quiet weeks at Acme, Detective Sandiego would revisit her favorite cases. The first time she played white. Now, she fantasized about playing black. If it were me, I would have entered through the roof.
If it were me, I would have used a decoy to distract the police.
I would have made sure the car had a full tank of gas.Quiet weeks became the rule rather than the exception. Gradually, it was no longer a game for rainy days. And “I would have” became “I will.” That's all folks- I might have another one cooking, but probably won't be able to post tonight.

Although I wasn't able to make the deadline, I committed myself to submitting something. I'll post it before morning on my LJ and provide a link. Just been real busy, got back from Tampa a little over an hour ago ;-)

I love all the entries so far. waschbaer - looking forward to reading more. Very good start so far. I am curious as to how it'll all turn out. Kara- love the drabble. Definitely is a neat way of Carmen's transformation to the Dark Side, if you will. ;D Also, thanks for the comments on the drawing. I'm glad you found it amusing.
