If The Learning Company/Riverdeep/whoever holding the license for series made a new Carmen game, would you play it?
Another thing, would you prefer it:
the old style (as in you had to compile a warrant based on gender, hair color, etc.)? the Great Chase/Treasures of Knowledge style (ie. story-based adventure) what I call the not-really-educational style (Stolen Drums)?
Or would you rather that the powers that be just made another Carmen TV show?
What can I say, I'm bored...

Stolen Drums?
I think it would be cool to have an old-style one for older players, and a TV-based one for everyone. The one for older players would focus more on real detective work, i.e. forensics and deduction, and the other would be more geography-based.
I like story-based games.

The Secret of the Stolen Drums was an action/adventure game for the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube. More emphasis on the action, not so much on the learning. Seems to follow after "Treasures of Knowledge" storywise. I hesitate to call it a bad game, since the gameplay is decent and similar to Beyond Good and Evil, right down to even the weapon of choice. But considering the story as well as the license, it just doesn't feel like a Carmen game. It doesn't help that the game doesn't look very good either -- not that the CS games needed to look pretty, but "Stolen Drums" isn't the type of game you'd want to showcase the GameCube/Xbox/PS2's graphical power.

I wouldn't mind another sort of Treasures of Knowledge like game, but one that's a bit better storywise. And better characters. That guy irked me...Shadow Hawkins, I think his name was?
I think that makes the games not as repetitive, you know?

I´d play a new Carmen game for sure! But it would be great if the game was more for adults. It was fun to play seecrets of the stolen drum, but it wasn´t really about Carmen Sandiego, it was more an ordinary action and skill game but a detective game. And the story... well, it was cute, but not a story for a Carmen Sandiego game. I would like a new game to be more like the old style, because that way one can´t mess the game up that easily though a story based game is always much fun. How about a "pick your own adventure book"? A new one, not as the old ones but story based? That would be fun! Especially if Zack and Ivy were the detectives. I miss them in the games a lot.

There should be some music-related titles in the CS franchise. What do you think?

I don't know if any of you have ever played Indigo Prophecy, if you haven't I totally recommend it, but I think that game's style would be perfect for a new Carmen game. In IP, you play as a character who unwillingly murders someone, and you play as the police detectives who're are tracking him down. What's also good is that it's not as linear as these types of games tend to be.

Go to games and fic section, I created some Carmen Sandiego games. All you have to do is type in the state or country the suspect went and keep track of evidence. ;D

I have purchased a copy of the University Games board game from 1992 and it is missing the poster of the henchmen. I am wondering if someone has a copy of this poster that they could share with me? Looks like a fun part of the game to have!
